The South African cricket Board has named the T20 squad for the Caribbean tournament starting April 30th. Juan Theron is the only new and uncapped player.
Good signs for South Africa is that Graeme Smith who went back home from IPL suffering an injury will be alright and will lead the team in the Cup.
However, Wayne Parnell and Justin Kemp who got themselves injured in the IPL won’t get a chance to play in the T20 World Cup.
In Parnell’s absence, Juan Theron who impressed everyone by leading the bowling attack of KXIP from the front in IPL and won the match for them has been given a place in the squad.
With the presence of Rory Kleinveldt, the all rounder adds depth to both bowling and batting. He was a part of the Under 19 team and is in fine form now.
I am delighted that we have Graeme Smith back from injury to lead us in this campaign. At the same time it is sad to lose players of the calibre of Wayne Parnell and Justin Kemp.
Rory Kleinveldt will be a good like-for-like replacement for Parnell. He is capable of opening the bowling or operating at first change and he has also been a regular death bowler for the Cobras which is an important area for us. Rory also gives us some good batting options down the order
Rusty Theron has impressed everybody both with his skills and his temperament both in domestic cricket and in the Indian Premier League. He was a key player for the Warriors in doing the domestic limited overs double.
South Africa are placed with India and Afghanisthan in the Cup.
SQUAD:-
Graeme Smith (capt), Jacques Kallis, Loots Bosman, Johan Botha, Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Rory Kleinveldt, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel, Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn, Juan Theron, Roelof van der Merwe
Since the Indians have taken the Micromax Mobile Cup, they seriously are going to experiment in the third and final ODI against South Africa in Ahemedabad by implementing some young lads into the squad.
The selectors have given a rest to the Almighty Sachin Tendulkar(u might be thinking what???). Wished he played and scored another century. Virender Sehwag too has been rested alongside Harbhajan Singh.
So, There will be a new pair of openers for the last one day because Viru and Tendu is rested.
And, Gauti, Yuvi and Zak are not been included in the side as they have not yet recovered from the injury.
Rookie Pacer Abhimanyu Mithun and Tamil Nadu player Murali Vijay have been included in the side.
Vijay and Karthik, both the Tamil Nadu mates will open the innings for the Indian team.

Superb, Fantastic, Excellent, Outstanding are some
of the words which describes The God.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar, The God of Cricket makes history on Wednesday, 24th February, 2010 in Captain Roop Stadium in Gwalior with a breathtaking inning scoring 200 runs and not.
Perhaps, no one would have thought in the start of innings that he will score the first double century and become the highest scorer in a match.
Sachin! Sachin! Sachin! All the way.
People would have been cursing MS Dhoni who was aiming to take the score to 400 runs and did not give strike to Tendulkar in the end overs.
He scores 200 mighty runs in just 147 balls to prove that he is the God of Cricket.
Everybody’s hearts would have been in their mouth when he was for the first time in his life in nervous 190s.
But, as everyone wanted, he went on to score the double ton. Everyone stood and cheered the Master Blaster on his maiden double ton in jam packed crowd in Gwalior.
His inning of 200 runs in 147 balls consisted of 25 fours and 3 sixes. Making it 118 runs in boundaries.
Sachin Tendulkar has not only made the Indians proud but all the fans of Cricket.
