The Sri Lankan Selectors selected the Lankan squad for the tri series involving India and New Zealand starting August 10th in Lanka. Left hand Seamer Chanaka Welegedara and Batsman Thilina Kandamby have been left out for the Series. The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced the Indian Squad for the upcoming tri series. Yuvraj Singh has been called back while the likes of Gautam Gambhir, Sachin Tendulkar and Harbhajan Singh have been rested.

The Committee headed by Kris Srikkanth, selected the One Day team for the Tri Series against Sri Lanka and New Zealand in Lanka from 10th August. (more…)

To know the taste of nectar on earth,

We had the gentlemen’s game Cricket’s birth,

Which is filled with enjoyment and mirth.

I start off with the diverse team,

Which make the respective supporters beam.

First comes Team no. one,

India jo hai ek solid tuphaan.

Then comes team Pakistan,

T20 cricket mein hai woh sabse mahaan.

When the Sri Lankans step on,

With the wind the opposition is gone.

Then comes Champion Team Australia,

World cup mein inhone saare teams ko haraa diya.

After them, come the royal English,

Opposite them, the teams always perish.

Then come the Proteas to the pitch,

They send the minnows mercilessly into the ditch.

Team New Zealand plays to fire,

And fulfill their nation’s desire.

You’ll never cease to make shor….

As an upset for the Indian Cricket team which is to tour for a Test series in Sri Lanka as Zaheer Khan, the Indian spear heard pacer was ruled out with a shoulder injury.  The tour includes three Tests, followed by a tri-series in Dambulla, also involving New Zealand. (more…)
